Breve historia
Desde el inicio de la humanidad se han consagrado rituales y simbolismos que hemos usado para identificarnos con un grupo social específico. Desde esos códigos construimos nuestra identidad, en algunos casos por medio de la ropa, el modo de hablar y comunicarnos; En otras ocasiones por medio del dolor y el consiguiente placer que trae soportarlo estoicamente como una prueba de nuestro rango en la sociedad.
El tatuaje originariamente proviene de las mal llamadas “tribus barbaras”, hecho que constituyó un veto para la sociedad occidental crecientemente romana hace 2 siglos, que despreciaba cualquier asociación con otros pueblos originarios. Este veto mantuvo en occidente el tatuaje en las sombras y como muchas otras tradiciones y aspectos culturales subyugados a solo ser reconocidos a través de su posterior colonización o blanqueamiento, igual que en la música y las artes.
Desde 1771 cuando se tomaron los tatuajes Maorís como un símbolo de exotismo en occidente se ha venido dando una transformación y una mixtura incorporando el tatuaje a la vida y estilo de cada cultura con los obvios referentes nipones, Maorís y Norteamericanos, hoy y cada vez más el tatuaje nos ayuda a definir nuestra pertenencia y memoria de identidad, de lo fuimos y somos. Configurado así el tatuaje como una de las técnicas de expresión de nuestras nuevas generaciones que cada vez más encuentran su pertenencia y gusto en llevar en su piel de modo indeleble a expresión de su sentir.
